Here is a preview of Aston Martin’s new luxury minicar, the Toyota iQ-based Cygnet. The team at Aston Martin took the Toyota iQ and added all their familiar styling—grille, air-vents, etc.

Exterior styling features pop-up handles, new front and rear bumpers, head and tail lights, and multispoke alloy wheels. Aside from premium materials, the inside retains the iQ’s basic architecture and design.

No engine details are available as of late, but it is believed that the iQ’s 1.33-liter petrol engine will be used in the Cygnet as well.


Initially the Cygnet will only be available to current and future Aston Martin owners with a general release to follow at a later date. Aston Martin said that it will continue to develop the Cygnet, but expects to have the car into production and on sale in the UK and Europe before the end of 2010. Pricing will be around $32,000.
